Winter 2023/24 – week 13

Having been on holiday, this report covers the last two weeks. I won’t go into too much detail as we only have one week remaining so I will cover where we’re at in each of the competitions. However, a couple of key points from recent weeks, on the 12th John Cost checked out 158 but that was still just shy of current leader David Moule’s 160. This week Andy Jurd managed 150. There was also 14 tons from Kev Parsons, but he’s still some way behind Andy Harvey.

With only one week left, the Out of Towners sit 12 points clear of Andys boys. The Out of Towners are away to Arms A, whilst Andys Boys  are home to Five Guys. Can Andys Boys close the gap? There is also a battle for fourth place in the league between Grand Central and Five Guys, only three points separate the teams. Likewise, in sixth place, Town Central lead Foreign Legion by only seven points, so there is all to play for in the final week for most teams.

From an individuals point of view, it’s still very close at the top of most Legs Won. Alan Turnell and Andy Harvey sit on 48, whilst Paul Walker is one leg behind on 47, Andy Jurd and Rob Doran are outsiders on 44 and 43 respectively. Owing to Steve Ballard‘s injury, having fallen over his own feet, which resulted in him missing 2 weeks, Andy Harvey pulled away and now sits 9 tons ahead of Kev Parsons. Paul has run away with the 180’s competition, and is now 7 ahead of John Cost. Pete Bailey and Rob Doran both sit closely behind on 8 maximums each. The Fastest Leg is still shared between Paul Walker and Rob Hayes, both on 12.

We have a spare week coming up so the last games of the season are on 2nd April.
