Summer 2024 – Postponed result

The rearranged fixture from 30th July took place tonight, that saw the top two sides go head to head. This was Arms A last fixture of the season so they needed to make it count, to make it a tough challenge for Out of Towners, who play bottom team Daves Railroaders next week. Despite the game being close, it was the first league defeat this season for Arms A, meaning Out of Towners have closed the gap to 17 points, following their 14-12 win.

A win for Sam Ellis tonight means he has won the Most Legs competition, as he is 6 clear of 2nd placed David Moule. Steve Ballard, Andy Jurd and Andy Harvey will all play next week to see who will get 2nd and 3rd spot, with all 3 players sitting on 39. Harvey is now on 111 in the Most Tons comp, 6 ahead of Ellis who won’t get a chance to add to his tally. Only Ballard can catch him but with 11 the difference, it’s unlikely unless Harvey doesn’t show. Ellis remains 2 maximums ahead of Rob Doran and 4 in front of Ballard and Moule, so there is every opportunity for this to be challenged. In the final weeks, can anyone beat Sean Crysell’s 136 checkout or Doran’s 12 darter?
