On the final night of the Summer season, Out of Towners faced Foreign Legion in the Team Knockout while also playing a rescheduled match against Town Central on the adjacent board.
In the league fixture, Out of Towners secured a convincing 20-6 win over Town Central. Matty Smith recorded two maximums, while Andy Jurd hit 12 tons to draw level with David Moule in joint 2nd place in the Most Tons competition, 18 behind overall winner Kev Parsons. The 180s, Highest Checkout and Fastest Leg standings were unchanged, but Andy Jurd moved into 3rd place in the Most Legs challenge.
The main event was the Team Knockout final, and Out of Towners made no mistake. They led 5-1 after the Pairs, then won each of the next three games 4-1 to put the match beyond reach before the final game was played. The final result was Foreign Legion 7, Out of Towners 19.
Thank you to the Central Club for hosting both matches. Next week brings the Summer Presentation, Winter AGM and Team Registration. Please arrive at the Hayward Suite in time for an 8pm start.
