Happy New Year, welcome back after the Christmas break. We are almost at the mid point of the season and there is plenty to play for. Wins by Out of Towners against Grand Central, and Andys Boys beating Town Central, it’s now all level at the top with Arms A also in touching distance following their win of Foreign Legion. Five Guys recorded a 17-9 win over Daves Railroaders, leaving Railroaders firmly at the bottom, but Five Guys now in the thick of it fighting for 4th place with Grand Central and Town Central, only 2 points separate the 3 teams.
A 154 checkout by Steve Shaw puts him level with Tom Smart at the top of the Highest Checkout competition. There was also a 120 finish by Paul Walker, and a 14 darter. Stuart Giddings was the only player to reach double figures in the Tons competition, with 10, putting him 3rd, 8 Tons behind Steve Ballard in top spot. John Cost wasn’t available to add to his Maximums total, so Walker closed the gap by 1. Pete Bailey and Sam Ellis also hitting a maximum with this week. Andy Harvey sits top of the Most Legs Won by 1 leg, closely followed by Alan Turnell, Rob Doran and Paul Walker. In fact, there are 10 players within 5 legs of top spot, so missing a week isn’t recommended.
