Andys Boys closed the gap at the top beating Foreign Legion 15-11. However, that was only by 1 point as Out of Towners beat Five Guys 14-12. The gap now 11 points. Interesting, the Out of Towners and Five Guys match was a sneak preview of the team knockout final next week at the Central Club. It went down to the very last match, will the final be as close? There were also wins for Arms A, beating Grand Central 15-11 and Town Central 16-10 over Daves Railroaders.
With only 3 weeks left, Andys Boys and Out of Towners go head to head on 12th March, this could be critical in who will win the league. Out of Towners then face 4th placed Grand Central and 3rd placed Arms A. Whereas Andys Boys face 5th placed Town Central and 6th placed Five Guys. So you wouldn’t rule anything out yet. In the first half of the season, during the same fixtures, Out of Towners picked up 47 points whereas, Andys Boys managed 45 points. So you have to say Out of Towners look nailed on to finish top, but not all results go as planned. It will be an interesting conclusion to the season.
I asked the question last week if anyone could beat Rob Hayes 12 dart leg and we had an immediate response. Although Paul Walker didn’t beat it, he has matched it and so now 2 people look to share the prize money. There were a few ton plus checkouts this week, non that beat David Moules 160, but Walker hit 142, Guy Ellis 133, Andy Harvey 120 and 100 from Kev Parsons and Roy Stretch. With no Steve Ballard this week, Harvey took advantage and now sits clear by 8 tons. Walker and Parsons both hit 12 ton plus shots and Moule 10. In terms of the most legs won competition, Alan Turnall and Walker now share top spot, both on 41 for the season. Of all the players that have played more than 2 matches, only Turnell remains unbeaten. That 10 wins from 10 games, he has only drop 9 legs all season and sits on 82% leg win rate.
