Winter 2023/24 – week 5

On Tuesday, Out of Towners moved top of the league following their 16-10 win over Andys Boys, who now trail by 2 points. Arms A closed the gap on the top 2 by with a 19-7 win over new side Daves Railroaders. Grand Central’s 17-9 win over Foreign Legion moved them within 1 point of their local rivals, Town Central, who enjoyed a 16-10 win against Five Guys.

Rob Doran and Andy Harvey share top spot in the Most Legs Won, both sitting on 19 having won 76% of the legs they have played. Paul Walker and Alan Turnell follow closely behind on 18. Of the players that have played in at least 50% of the games, only Turnell is yet to lose a game, played 5, won 5.

On the Most Tons competition, Steve Ballard leads Harvey by 1. This week there were 200 hit across all matches, with Harvey and Rob Hayes hitting 11 apiece, and Ballard and Alan Vines reaching double figures on 10 each. Andy Jurd hit 3 maximums, closely followed by Walker and John Cost with 2 each. That puts Cost on 8 for the season, followed by Walker on 6.

There were no big changes in the Highest Checkout or Fastest Leg. Steve Shaw took at 136 to move into 2nd and Dale Thompson along with Colin Denyer, both finished on 114. There were three 14 dart legs from Walker, Cost and Vines.

Next week is the 1st round of the cup:

  • Out of Towners v Arms A
  • Grand Central v Andys Boys
  • Five Guys v Town Central
  • Daves Railroaders v Foreign Legion

We have revert back to the previous format so cup matches are played as you would a league game. To remind people, home team chalks and we don’t count Tons, 180’s, checkouts or fastest legs.

Also to clarify, teams can sign on news players throughout the season, in both league and cup competitions. We don’t allow transfers so players most NOT have played for another team that season.
