The Arms moved into first place following their win against Foreign Legion 14-12, but it went down to the final match of the night, with David Moule edging out Kev Parsons, as he did in this year’s singles semi-final. Out of Towners beat Wolves Z 17-9 and sit in second place, 8 points behind the leaders but a game in hand. Andys Boys had a bye and drop into third. Town Central maintain fourth with a 19-7 win over Daves Railroaders. The biggest win of the week was Grand Central beating bottom side Queen Charlotte 20-6. It’s good to see a new team in the league we some promising youngsters who I’m sure we will see rapid development over the next couple of seasons.
David Moule remains top of the Legs Won competition, although Andy Jurd closed the gap to 1 leg and a game in hand. Andy Harvey and David Moule share top spot on 108 for Most Tons, with this week Kev Parsons and Tom Smart both hitting 12 and Sean Crysell, Colin Denyer and John Cost all with 10. Another maximum from Paul Walker moves him to 19 for the season, 7 ahead of Sam Ellis. We have 3 ton plus checkouts, Steve Ballard with 153, Paul Walker 146 and Sean Crysell 120. There were no fastest legs recorded.
Next week is the Cup Semi-finals:
The Arms v Andys Boys
Town Central v Foreign Legion
