Just like the Blind Pairs, it was another good turnout for the Les Brant Singles held at the Wolversdene Club. As the night progressed, it was honestly difficult to predict a winner. 25 players took to the oche and it was Sam Ellis that took the title against the ton machine Kev Parsons.
Parsons took the first leg checking out on 120, with Ellis hitting the first of his 180’s in the leg. Ellis pulled in back in the second with 2 further maximum’s and checking out on double 10 in 16 darts. Missed doubles in the third by Parsons gave Ellis the opportunity to go 2-1 up which he took. Ellis secured his win with a 17 dart leg, checking out 52 in 2 darts leaving Parsons on 157.
On the night Ellis played 20 legs of darts, winning 15 and losing only 5, for a 75% win rate. Likewise, having avoided a near miss in the first round against Steve Shaw, where Shaw had darts at the double to win the match, Parsons went on to play 22 legs, winning 13, losing 9, for a 59% win rate.
